Cords

The Cords were a band from the Netherlands who made a noisy kind of alternative rock music, with much power and intensity from the band and the excellent voice of singer Simone Holsbeek. Simone, Marzel 'Maz' Morsink and Arnoudt Pieters played in a band called 'Flintstones' with Judith Mulder on bass, then in 1991 the first three started the band 'Chords'. In 1993 the letter h was dropped and the band became known as 'Cords'. In 1995 Jacky 'Sunshine' Peters became the bass player. In 1998 Yuko Murata became an official member of the band. At the end of september, 1999 they decided to stop the band and go on with their own projects. Arnoudt (the drummer) and Simone (singer) started Telefunk. In August 2004 Arnoudt died of a brain infarct (see this article in Dutch on VPRO's 3voor12). Maz (guitarist) has his own recording and mastering studio and plays with Danger Men. Yuko is playing the keyboard for Willard Grant Conspiracy. Simone now plays in a new band called Drive by Wire.

There was also an unrelated band called 'The Chords' in 1979.
